Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — when you sign in with Google, Facebook, or email, we receive your name and email address to create and secure your account.
• Content you create — the vehicles, refuelings, expenses, income, services, reminders, and routes you record, including any receipts, invoices, warranties, and photos you attach (a Premium feature).
• Fleet information — if you use Carango's Fleet features, the driver and manager profiles you create (such as name and driver's-license expiry) and the cost and income attributed to each driver.
• Location — if you use features that find nearby places such as gas stations, we use your device location to show relevant results. We access location only while you use that feature and with your permission.
• Usage and device data — through Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) we collect app-usage events, device model, operating system, app version, crash diagnostics, and IP address to keep the app reliable and improve it.
• Advertising data — in the free version, Google AdMob may collect your advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads. Ads are removed for Premium subscribers.
• Purchase data — when you subscribe, Google Play processes the payment and shares your subscription status with us. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, sync, and back up your data across your devices.
• Send the reminders and notifications you set up.
• Show and measure ads in the free version.
• Analyze usage and diagnose crashes to improve and secure the Service.
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

• Service providers — we rely on Google (Firebase Firestore, Storage, Remote Config, Analytics, and Crashlytics; Google Play Services; Google Maps and Places; Google AdMob; and Google Play Billing) and on Facebook Login. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
• Fleet members — if you join or manage a fleet, the vehicles, records, and profile information within that fleet are shared with the fleet's administrator, its managers, and the relevant drivers so the shared plan can work.
• Legal reasons — we may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.

Data storage, security, and retention

Your data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase servers and is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access is restricted by security rules so that, outside of Fleet sharing, only you can read your data.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed as described in "Your rights and account deletion" below. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information.

International data transfers

Carango is available worldwide. Your information may be processed on servers located in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Your rights and account deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by contacting us. See our Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.

• Location — you can grant or revoke location access in your device settings at any time.
• Advertising — you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings to control ad personalization.

Children's privacy

Carango is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party sites and services that we do not operate. This Policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their practices. Please review their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
